Ecosystem restoration and land reclamation
Under wayCleaning soils and water bodies of contamination, reclaiming degraded land, and reforesting territories affected by hostilities or industrial pressure.
Boreholes, water mains and treatment facilities put out of service by the war. We survey them, assess their condition against EU standards and prepare restoration projects.
We survey water systems together with the hromada, assess their condition against EU standards and prepare investment projects the hromada then takes to donors. The hromada sets the priorities itself.
Source: the concept note submitted to the GEF Small Grants Programme on 07.08.2026. The portfolio projects are prepared for submission to donors; this is not money spent. We will publish the total value of the portfolio once there is a single verified assessment of the hromada's needs.
We record the damage together with the village council.
Scope and budget are fixed in writing.
Contract, payment on delivery, supplier due diligence.
Carried out under the hromada's supervision.
Handover act and a public report page.
The first priority, hromada water systems, is the one currently under way. The other four are strands for which the foundation is preparing project concepts and seeking funding. The status of each is shown next to its name.
Cleaning soils and water bodies of contamination, reclaiming degraded land, and reforesting territories affected by hostilities or industrial pressure.
Autonomous energy sources for critical infrastructure, social institutions and protected areas: solar, biogas and small-scale hydro solutions.
Sorting, processing and re-use of construction and household waste at hromada level.
Protecting natural areas, conserving rare species, and monitoring ecosystems with residents themselves taking part.
Eco-startups, environmental education and vocational training for women, young people, veterans and internally displaced persons.
ESG: what we can evidence
Environment: a baseline environmental profile of the hromada's water systems, assessed against EU standards. People: household surveys, with the hromada itself setting the priority for works. Governance: a separate budget and a separate financial report for each project, and a compliance management system certified to ISO 37301:2021. Source materials for each point are available on request.
